United States President Donald Trump’s daughter and advisor Ivanka Trump will be putting up at the Westin Hyderabad Mindspace Hotel during her two-day visit to Hyderabad for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) that will be held from November 28-30, a top Telangana government official said on Friday.
Though earlier speculation was rife that she would be staying at the Taj Falaknuma, the organisers seem to have zeroed in on Westin due to security concerns and its proximity to the GES 2017 venue – the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC).
Ivanka, who will head the US delegation, will be attending the inaugural session of the summit, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on November 28 and will also be participating in a few sessions the next day. Telangana principal secretary, industries and commerce as well as IT, Jayesh Ranjan, also said the Telangana government will be spending Rs 8 crore on the arrangements for the summit as well as hosting a dinner for the delegates at Golconda Fort.
“This (Rs 8 crore) is only towards expenses like booking the venues — HICC and Hitex, organizing transportation for the delegates and the like. This does not include expenditure on beautification of the city in preparation for the summit, which will be taken up by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on a separate budget,” Ranjan said. GES 2017, which is being held in this part of the world for the first time, and is being organised on the theme `Women First, Prosperity for All’ will have over 1500 entrepreneurs, investors and ecosystem supporters converging in Hyderabad for two-and-half days of training and mentoring sessions, networking and investment matchmaking.
