During this morning’s The Laura Ingraham Show, the host dismissed the idea that news that former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort and Manafort’s right-hand man Rick Gates had been indicted on 12 counts was a bad thing for the president. And she added that anyone else who thought that was living in a different reality.
“And the idea that this is a bad day for Trump because it in any way alludes to a collusion with Russia — you’ve got to be living on another planet if you think that,” Ingraham said. “It’s just not what this is about.”
She went on to insist that Manafort and Gates “don’t have anything on Trump” before noting that the special counsel would have gone after Jared Kushner if he wanted to target POTUS.
“I mean, we don’t know anything more than we see in these 31 pages, but as far as a smoking gun that in any way casts aspersions on Donald Trump, it’s a nothingburger,” she added.
Meanwhile, Ingraham wasn’t alone among Fox News primetime hosts to use their radio show to announce that this was all much ado about nothing. Sean Hannity claimed today that the “Russiagate witch hunt has come up pretty empty.”
