President Trump says he passed up a chance at Time magazine’s prestigious “Person of the Year” designation because the publication only said it would “probably” confer the honor.
“Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named ‘Man (Person) of the Year,’ like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!” Trump wrote on Twitter Friday.
Trump took the honor after winning the election last year, when the mag called him the “President of the Divided States of America.”
Trump was previously named Time’s 2016 “Person of the Year” last December.
In last year’s edition, Time managing editor Nancy Gibbs explained that regardless of how they feel about Trump, everyone had an opinion on the then-president-elect.
