Trump welcomes the Pittsburgh Penguins to the White House

Trump welcomes NHL champions to White House after disinviting NBA stars – but then Pittsburgh Penguins coach says he wouldn’t mind if his players took a knee for anthem.

Stanley Cup hockey champions the Pittsburgh Penguins visited the White House Tuesday amid President Trump picking fights with the NFL again, over football players taking the knee.

Though Trump had disinvited NBA champs, the Golden State Warriors, over point guard Steph Curry’s comments on the controversy, shortly after the hockey team’s East Room visit, Penguins Coach Mike Sullivan answered questions about it too.

‘No I would not,’ Sullivan replied when a reporter outside the West Wing asked if he’d be bothered if his players took a knee during the Star Spangled Banner.
